Conference Reception: 31 January 2011
A networking reception will be held on the evening before the conference between 19.00-21.00 at the same venue, Hilton Manchester Deansgate, where delegates and exhibitors will meet to have a bite to eat and a glass of wine ahead of the day's proceedings. The first ever Health & Safety Awards will be announced at this reception.

Health and Safety Awards
We are delighted to announce that Lawrence Waterman, Head of Health & Safety for the Olympic Delivery Authority (“ODA”) will be presenting the first ever health and safety awards for the renewable energy sector.
RenewableUK and The Crown Estate announced in July 2011 the creation of the first ever health and safety awards scheme to recognise outstanding performance in the renewable energy sector. The initiative was open to all renewable energy technologies, and is another example of renewable industries working together to take a global lead on this highly important issue.
The expected winner(s) will have been expected to demonstrate examples of health and safety best practice including:
- Outstanding health & safety performance and innovation;
- Successful sharing of health & safety best practice;
- Substantial impact on risk reduction; and
- Long term improvement in health & safety performance.
Entries will have been assessed by a judging panel made up of representatives from across the renewables and health and safety industries.
We hope you will join us to celebrate what will be the first of many successes within the sector.
