RenewableUK Wave & Tidal 2010
Over 450 government and industry professionals attended the seventh annual RenewableUK wave and tidal event, held at the QEII Centre, Westminster, London.
Delegates included senior government officials, investors, financiers, manufacturers, developers and others with an interest in the latest developments in wave and tidal energy in UK waters.
At the eve of conference networking reception, Lord Taylor of Holbeach, CBE, Shadow Minister for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, addressed guests, congratulating the association on its recent name change and restating the importance of supporting marine renewables on the path to deployment.
Oliver Wragg, RenewableUK Wave and Tidal Development Manager said, ‘we had a great turnout at the conference; there was a fantastic buzz and the reception provided a brilliant opportunity for delegates to catch up with the latest industry developments and network. The conference programme was a marked change to previous events, as it provided the opportunity for the financial and insurance industries to give their opinions on vital developments in the funding landscape. A highlight was the Marine Action Plan panel debate, which tackled heavy hitting issues such as how we sustain the UK global market lead and the need to compete with other forms of energy generation’.
